Chandni Chowk To China- Director of the movie is Nikhil Advani. Movie is an Action Comedy. Star cast Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Mithun Chakraborty. The film is the first Bollywood film to be shot in China. This is Warner Bros. Pictures’s second Bollywood film. This movie is inspired by, a little bit of Akshay Kumar life. Chandni Chowk To China will release on 16th January 2009 Produced by Rohan Sippy.

Luck by Chance - Produced by Farhan Akhtar. The film is about the journey of an actor named Vikram Jaisingh (Farhan Akhtar) who arrives in Bombay to make it big as a film star with the help of Abhimanyu (Arjun Mathur) a TV star friend, who puts him up during the initial struggle. Does he make it big? or does his struggle defeat him, and more importantly, does he pay his dues to the people who supported him when he was nobody, forms the basic crux of the story. In the film Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia will also be seen in prominent roles and Rishi plays a Punjabi producer Romy Rolly .Konkana Sen Sharma will be doing the role of a junior artist named Sona Mishra, with Hrithik Roshan playing the role of a superstar. The story is about these actors of Bollywood. And this drama movie will release on January 23rd 2009.
Raaz - The Mystery Continues- Horror film starring Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Adhyayan Suman, Sonal Chauhan. Director and Producer Mohit Suri. Movie will release by 23rd January 2009
Billu Barber- Comedy Drama Directed by Priyadarshan . An upcoming Bollywood film starring Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta in the lead roles, and Shahrukh Khan for the first time in a supporting role. the film also features Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani in supporting roles with guest appearances by actresses Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra. The film, which is a remake of the hugely successful Malayalam film Kadha Parayumbol, has already been remade in Tamil as Kuselan starring Pasupathy and Rajinikanth but met a poor box office reception. This movie will release on 13th February 2009 and the Producer is King of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan.

Delhi 6 – Movie is Romantic Drama based on Mehra’s growing up years in Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi directed by Raykesh Omprakash and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Starring: Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Gulshan Grover, Divya Dutta, Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri, Prem Chopra. Delhi 6 will release on 20th February 2009

New York - Action Thriller produced by Aditya Chopra. Starring: John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Mukesh, Irrfan Khan. Director of movie is Kabir Khan. Release TBC

Chatur Singh Two Star - Comedy by Sanjay Dutt, Amisha Patel, Suresh Menon. Director Ajay Chandok and Produced by Mohamed Aslam. Movie will be released in May 2009

My Name is Khan - is an upcoming 2009 Indian drama based on a true story. My Name is Khan is directed by Karan Johar, produced by Dharma Productions, and has a screenplay by Shibani Bathija. The musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the film’s score. The film stars Shahrukh Khan as Rizvan Khan, a muslim man who suffers from Asperger syndrome (a form of autism which impacts social interaction abilities). Authorities detain Rizvan after mistaking his disability for “suspicious” behavior. The film is slated to be released in November 2009

Kites - Hrithik Roshan’s upcoming next produced by his dad Rakesh Roshan and directed by Anurag Basu. The film stars Hrithik along with two leading ladies, Kangana Ranaut and Mexican actress Barbara Mori. Our source reveals, “Kites has Hrithik playing a salsa teacher. Kangana plays a very rich girl and is shown as Hrithik’s dance student. The story is set in Las Vegas. In the course of learning Salsa from him, she falls madly in love with him. But then a twist in the tale takes place and the romantic story takes a thriller turn. Barbara Mori plays a Spanish speaking girl and will be seen in the first half of the film. In the film she speaks only in Spanish and Hrithik who plays the salsa teacher can’t speak a word of Spanish. So he speaks to her in Hindi and yet the two communicate and fall madly in love. Abhishek Bachchan set to Guiness Book World Record

It’s a Guinness world record that not many actors would think of. But there you have it. Abhishek Bachchan has been thinking the unthinkable in the roles he plays and in the way he projects his passion for cinema.
On Friday Abhishek is all set to break a unique world record.
That of a film star attending the most public appearances in 12 hours.
Starting on Friday morning when Delhi 6 releases Abhishek will travel to as many events in as many cities as possible within 12 hours.
Speaking from Dubai on Wednesday where he was attending the film’s premiere Abhishek excitedly said, “It’s an idea that has been with me for a while ever since I heard about some German actors who set a world record by attending five public in twelve hours. I want to beat their record.I’d do at least 6-7 apearances in 12 hours in six cities. It could go up to seven cities.”
Starting at around noon on Friday afternoon the cities that Abhishek would cover would be honouring the city that the film Delhi 6 celebrates.
“By the look of it, we could do Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Chandigarh, Baroda and Mumbai and break this record on the 20th itself or on 21st…..starting time could be 10 am or 12 noon doing a 12 to 12.
We could do seven cities instead of the current record of 5 cities, ” says the Sabbas Joseph, director of Wizcraft International who would be manoeuvring the record-breaking endeavour for Abhishek.
The current record record-holder in the category of the greatest number of public appearances by a film star at different cities in 12 hours promoting the same film is five by Jürgen Vogel and Daniel Brühl (Germany), They walked the red carpet, signed autographs and introduced the film Ein Freund von mir (Germany 2006) at cinemas in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Cologne, Germany, on 22 October 2006.
They were accompanied by the director of Ein Freund von mir Sebastian Schipper.
Would Abhishek be able to break that record? “I hope so. And I think I will. Actually I’m quite excited by the idea, more so because I’m implementing it for a film that’s so close to my heart.”
Guinness book officials are expected be present to watch Abhishek make history.

Amrita Arora tie knot in March, 2009

March 4 is going to be the wedding to watch out for when Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladhak will exchange rings and wedding vows at a Bandra church followed by a brunch at Olive.
On March 5, Salman’s sister Alvira Agnihotri will host mehendi and sangeet ceremony at Salman’s residence. The nikaah ceremony will be held in the afternoon on March 6, followed by a grand reception in the evening at Taj Lands End Hotel in Mumbai.
The bride’s vintage white gown is designed by Ashley Rebello. It will be a long lace gown flaring at the hips and tapering in a high neck.
The lace for the gown will either be Christian Dior or Karl Lagerfeld. Ashley is also designing an emerald green and maroon ghagra for Amrita and a chikan pathani for the groom Shakeel Ladhak for the nikaah ceremony.
The bridesmaids Amrita’s Sister Malaika Arora-Khan, best friend Kareena Kapoor and close friend Mallika Bhat - will be in peach Grecian-inspired gowns.
Vikram Phadnis is apparently designing some outfits for them for some wedding-related events. So has Shantanu and Nikhil who created several outfits for various functions including an avant garde lehenga for Amrita, which is made of old silk brocade sarees with a wide off-shoulder blouse.

Ayesha Takia will tie the knot with her long-time boyfriend Farhan Azmi, a restaurateur and son of Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi on March 1 in a private and traditional nikaah ceremony at a mosque in Mumbai followed by a grand reception the next day at CCI, Mumbai. The two have been going steady for a long time.
All the preparations are complete including Ayesha’s wedding trousseau. Ayesha has finished shooting for Boney Kapoor’s Wanted-Dead Or Alive directed by Prabhu Deva; the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Pokkiri and Nagesh Kukunoor’s 8×10 Tasveer and is not taking on any more projects. The only film she will shoot after marriage is Revathi’s Phir Tum Mil Gaye, a woman-oriented project.
She also has Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai!, Naughty@Forty, Milind Ukey’s Paathshala opposite Shahid Kapoor and Nikhil Advani’s Ab Dilli Door Nahin.
Telugu star Nagarjuna and director Puri Jagannath are expected to attend the reception to be held on March 2. The wedding was supposed to take place in December, but was postponed due to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

"Slumdog Millionaire" wins big at Oscars

Rags-to-riches romance "Slumdog Millionaire" swept the Oscars on Sunday, winning eight awards including the prize for best picture in a climactic triumph for a movie that almost failed to get released.
Among the "Slumdog" honors, Briton Danny Boyle was named best director for the often dark but ultimately hopeful tale about a poor Indian boy who competes for love and money on a TV game show, and writer Simon Beaufoy won adapted screenplay.
"Slumdog" also earned Oscars for best cinematography, sound mixing, film editing, original score for composer A.R. Rahman and best song, "Jai Ho" for Rahman and lyricist Gulzar. Only seven other films in the 81-year-history of the Oscars have won eight or more awards.
Filmed in the teeming slums of Mumbai, the movie was orphaned at one point when it was dropped by financier Warner Independent Pictures, a division of giant Warner Bros. Fox Searchlight Pictures ultimately rescued the project and released the movie to critical acclaim in November.
"You've been so generous to us this evening, and I want to thank you for that," Boyle said to the Academy Award audience when accepting his trophy.

Oscar winning lyricist Gulzar rejoices

Oscar winning lyricist Gulzar, who shares the 'Original Song' award with Bollywood composer, AR Rehman on Monday, said he would love to work with the maestro again.
Bollywood's A.R. Rehman won Oscars for original score and original song in Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire", becoming the first Indian composer to strike gold at the annual Hollywood awards. Rahman won the Oscar for his score 'Jai Ho' in "Slumdog Millionaire" and he shared the original song award with Gulzar. "Slumdog," which tells of a young man looking for love and competing for money on the Indian version of the television game show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". It also earned Oscars for Adapted Screenplay and Cinematography as the world's top film honours got under way. The awards bagged by the film are - best Motion Picture of the Year award, Danny Boyle (best director award), A R Rahman and Gulzar (Original Song 'Jai Ho'), Rahman (best score), Resul Pookutty (Sound Mixing), Anthony Dod Mantle (best Cinematography), Simon Beaufoy (Adapted Screenplay), Chris Dickens (Film Editing).
